For thousands the cold kills.  You can help stop vulnerable, older people freezing in their homes by donating your Winter Fuel Payment. Your donation will go directly towards items included in our Warm in Winter gift bags. For some, they could be a life saver.
We need your help to fill our gift bags and reach vulnerable, older people who are having to make the unimaginable choice between heating their home or buying food.
Recent gift bag recipients when asked ‘How do you stay warm?’ told us:
'I don’t, I’m struggling. This will kill us by the end of the winter.'
'Heating on for one hour a day, hot water bottle with water heated for tea.'
'We have only allowed ourselves heating for one hour in the morning.'
'Stay in bed…’
There is more demand for our Warm in Winter gift bags than ever before.
Please consider making a donation. Your gift will make a huge difference to the lives of older people who will be really struggling to keep warm this winter.
£100 will provide 20 older people with a mug, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soup and porridge
£250 keeps 25 older people warm and cosy in a soft fleece blanket
£500 fills 15 Warm in Winter gift bags with essential keep warm items including a blanket, hat, gloves, hot drinks, soup and porridge
Recipients of Warm in Winter gift bags say:
'Hat and throw can help me stay warm in evening.'
'The gift will go a long way to eliminate the winter threats.'
'The blanket will save me putting the heating on as much.'
We are extremely thankful to everyone who donates part or all of their Winter Fuel Payment to help older people keep warm and of course to those who don’t yet receive these payments but who choose to make an equivalent donation instead.
