Bags of Kindness Packing Days 2021/22

PACKING DATES FOR 2022/23 COMING SOON

We are delighted to invite you to help pack gift bags that will be given to local vulnerable older people across Hertfordshire.

Our ‘Bags of Kindness’ project in partnership with the Community and People Wellbeing team at Hertfordshire County Council and Hertshelp has the contents for 3000 gift bags ready and waiting to be packed.

We need your help to make this happen and to bring a smile and kindness to older people across the county during the long, dark winter days. Many of whom are feeling more than a bit lonely and isolated right now.

We have all the gifts and the bags and all we need now is you!

NOVEMBER

16 & 17      Tuesday & Wednesday    Bags of Kindness

23-25         Tuesday - Thursday        Bags of Kindness

Morning: 10am – 12.30pm

Afternoon: 1.30pm – 4.00pm

All sessions will take place at Greycaine Road, WD24 7GP. Full details will be sent with your booking confirmation email.

You are welcome to join us for a morning, an afternoon, the whole day, a few days, a whole week or every session.

We welcome teams from businesses, individuals, families and friends.

Our packing stations/tables will be spaced well apart. There will be 10 tables per session with a maximum of 2 people per table or 1 family per table.

In line with current Government guidelines we strongly recommend that you:

  1. Take a lateral flow test before you come to a session
  2. Wear a mask
  3. Maintain a sensible distance of at least a metre from other volunteers
  4. Wash your hands regularly whist on site

These recommendations may change over the weeks and months ahead and we will advise you nearer the time if there are any updates

To register to help us pack our Bags of Kindness, please book using the Eventbrite link on this page or call Frances on 07956 536978 or email her at [email protected]

We cannot do this without your kindness and support and extend a huge thank you in advance.

    A Small Act

This winter, we will be sourcing, packing and distributing 12,000 Warm in Winter gift bags, at a cost of £35 to us, helping to heat the person, when they can’t afford to heat their home. This means 12,000 older people will be warmer in their homes, happier and more connected to their community. We need your help to make this happen. Please donate today and together we can connect communities with kindness.
