Violet's Gift Fundraising resources

Violet’s Gift and Small Acts of Kindness have worked in partnership over the last three years, to reach people in care homes at Christmas with no loved ones. With the help of all our amazing volunteers, 1000s of gifts are wrapped with a Christmas card, a note from the present wrapper and a letter to the recipient. These gifts are then made available to Hertfordshire care homes.

Violet’s Gift rely solely on donations and could not operate without this help.

£5 will purchase a small gift such as a box of chocolates, mug or calendar

£10 will purchase a medium gift such as a scarf set, blanket or toiletry set

Any large donations will be used towards multiple gifts and £100 will support an entire care home.

Jenny's volunteering journey

Each of our wonderful volunteers, perform their own small acts of kindness and together they make an incredible difference to whole communities and thousands of people. Jenny is a dedicated volunteer, always happy to help with a smile and we are extremely grateful to her for the many hours she has given us to pack hundreds, if not thousands of gift bags.
A gift of health, care and kindness for Hertfordshire’s most vulnerable children and young people

Working with the Public Health team at Hertfordshire County Council, we have sourced, packed and distributed 500 Health, Care & Kindness Bags, full of practical items and information to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people.
Helping to alleviate the effects of the cost of living crisis with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund

With thanks to the Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund, which has helped us put together thousands more Warm in Winter gift bags as we face a huge increase in demand.

Volunteer packing days

We are delighted to invite you to help pack all the contents for our Warm in Winter gift bags and Purple Pages information packs. These will be gifted to vulnerable older people across Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire this winter.

Here at Small Acts of Kindness ‘HQ’ we are looking ahead with positivity to being able, once again, to help some of the most vulnerable older people in our community keep warm and feel less lonely and isolated. Now all we need to make everything happen is your help.

A Small Act

This winter, we will be sourcing, packing and distributing 12,000 Warm in Winter gift bags, at a cost of £35 to us, helping to heat the person, when they can’t afford to heat their home. This means 12,000 older people will be warmer in their homes, happier and more connected to their community, one small act at a time. We need your help to make this happen. Please donate today and together we can connect communities with kindness.
Winter Fuel Payments

If you receive a Winter Fuel Payment but don’t need it, please think of someone who might and donate it to Small Acts of Kindness. For thousands the cold kills. Your donation will go directly towards items included in our Warm in Winter gift bags. For some, they could be a life saver.

PACKING DATES FOR 2022/23 COMING SOON We are delighted to invite you to help pack gift bags that will be given to local vulnerable older people across the County.
Chocolate Orange

Please help us to make this Christmas special for older people across Hertfordshire who will be spending it on their own by donating Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. These will be included in the 500 Christmas gift boxes that we will be distributing.
