Last month, we launched an appeal for donations of Terry’s Chocolate Oranges.  We are delighted to say that the kindness and generosity of so many people, means that all 500 of our Christmas gift boxes will be filled with a Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

Our gift boxes are distributed to older people across Hertfordshire who will be spending the festive season on their own.  After months of staying at home whilst shielding, many older people have lost their confidence to go out and are feeling more isolated and lonely than ever.  We hoped to be able to make this Christmas really special for them and now we can.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everybody who has kindly donated and helped to make a difference to someone this Christmas. So many of our lovely  volunteers brought along a Chocolate Orange, including the teams from HSBC and Corona Energy who came to pack our Warm in Winter gift bags.

Steps Together donated an amazing 100 Terry’s Chocolate Oranges - thank you for your support -  and we received a very generous donation following a fantastic Instagram post from UK Snack Attack.

A heartfelt thank you to Hertsmere Jewish Primary School who set up a donation box for pupils and parents to drop their Chocolate Oranges into.  It was wonderful to work with you on this appeal.

Our Christmas gift boxes will start being packed and wrapped this coming week and we can’t wait to start sending them out. 23% of over 65s (2.5 million people in the UK) say that the festive season is not a happy one for them.  We hope that, with your help, we can bring a smile to those who will be on their own this Christmas.
