We are delighted to have joined with The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters to ensure that more older people receive warm blankets this winter. Having kindly donated 120 of their beautifully hand knitted blankets to be included in our Warm in Winter gift bags, we are also extremely thankful to have received a donation of money raised at an auction held in November last year.

Small Acts of Kindness is one of five charities supported by the ‘Knit for Community’ project, which began in April 2020 as a result of the Covid lockdown.  With nearly 500 volunteers from across the UK either knitting, donating wool, or sewing the knitted squares, each blanket takes more than 100 hours to complete and each one is unique.

The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters is a London livery company committed to education and the promotion of excellence in the textile industry, through its Bursary and Awards programme. We are extremely appreciative of their support, including the donation of lap blankets.

The ‘Knit for Community’ project continues in 2021 and the Framework Knitters are looking for local volunteers to knit or crochet squares to be made into lap blankets.
