We are thrilled to have welcomed over 80 guests to the launch of our fundraising campaign for this winter with a fantastic short film, ‘A Small Act’. Joined by our many supporters and partners, it was a wonderful evening, full of warmth and kindness.

The film tells the story of why we do what we do, highlighting the issues faced by thousands of older people who are cold, lonely and isolated. A Small Act, launches our fundraising campaign to raise £100,000 toward the cost of sourcing, packing and distributing 12,000 more Warm in Winter gift bags - helping to heat the person, when they can’t afford to heat their home.

Speaking at the launch of the film, our CEO, Lynne Misner said, “58% of recipients of our gift bags last winter leave their home less than 3 times a week. They have no escape from the cold and the loneliness and isolation that this brings. Our film, A Small Act raises awareness of the challenges faced by so many older people. Together we can change this. Your donations will make a difference to the lives of thousands of older people when they need it the most and we thank you for helping to connect communities with kindness.”

‘We do what we love, for people who love what we do.’ We are now asking all of our partners, volunteers and friends to share our story and help make a big dent in our fundraising campaign target to raise £100,000.

A huge thank you to our partners who helped make this happen Warner Bros. Studios, community organisation Say it with a Smile and the creator and director Rob Done from Magnetic Eye Films. ‘A Small Act’ is the product of great collaboration and reflects our belief that working together we can connect communities with kindness.
