This year, we were thrilled to be part of a new project Christmas Kindness. Working in partnership with and funded by Hertfordshire County Council Adult Care Services and HertsHelp, we successfully sourced, packed and wrapped 3,000 gift boxes. They contained biscuits, chocolates, a fleece blanket, socks, a cloth face mask, and a Christmas Card. Also included was a gift card with a message from the person who packed and wrapped the gift box.

Our wonderful volunteers brought with them much enthusiasm and Christmas cheer, helping us to pack and wrap all of the boxes in time to be distributed to older people who are alone and may otherwise not receive anything at this time of year.

We have been overwhelmed by the response and feedback, "It made me feel very much loved and cared for, thank you." and "Made me feel very happy and not so alone." are just some of the comments received.

Lynne Misner, our CEO said "Our aim is to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people and to connect communities with kindness. It is an absolute pleasure to partner with Hertfordshire County Council to bring the Christmas Kindness project to reality and to know that so many people will not only have a wonderful box of gifts, but also know that someone cares about them too. Together we are stronger."
