It is an absolute honour to have been named Gold Winners of the Community Business of the Year, sponsored by Heart Hertfordshire Radio at the 2023 Watford Chamber of Conscience SME Hertfordshire Business awards.

Our CEO, Lynne Misner and Trustee, Howard Morgan attended the black tie event, held at Tewin Bury Farm on 14th September.

Howard commented “As a trustee, I’m very proud that Small Acts of Kindness has been judged to be the SME Hertfordshire Community Business of the Year. We are Hertfordshire based and the magic of our work is that we bring together 100’s of local volunteers, with local supporters and businesses to improve the lives of the many thousands of Hertfordshire residents who are feeling lonely and isolated. Our aim is to connect communities with kindness and it’s fantastic that our work has been recognised for its impact by this award”.

It was a real privilege to be finalists alongside Boho Boxmoor – Friends of Boxmoor, DCVS, help4thehomeless, Home-Start Hertfordshire, MCR Pathways, National Housing Group and Watford Workshop in the Community Business category. All do such important and impactful work within the community.

The event was the sixth year of the SME Hertfordshire Business Awards and provided a wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate successes and achievements with other businesses and community organisations across Hertfordshire.

This award means a great deal and is testament to the impact that we strive to have within our community only made possible by the amazing acts of kindness that our volunteers carry out year after year. We share this achievement with, and extend a huge thank you to, all of our volunteers, supporters, partners and funders without whom, we simply couldn’t do what we do.
