On 6 April 2020, Captain Tom Moore raised an astounding £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal by walking 100 laps around his garden. To honour him and his incredible achievements throughout his lifetime, everyone is invited to take on their own 100 challenge to help raise money for charity.  Combatting loneliness is a cause that was close to Captain Tom Moore’s heart and it is to ours too. When you take on the Captain Tom 100 challenge, every penny that you raise will help some of the most vulnerable, lonely and isolated older people in our community.

Getting Involved

To get involved all you need to do is dream up your Captain Tom 100 - an activity of your choice based around the number 100. This could be anything from walking 100 metres, telling 100 jokes, doing 100 push ups, baking 100 cupcakes, climbing 100 steps, writing a 100 word poem or singing for 100 minutes.  The list is endless. This is your chance to do it your way! There are no rules, other than to follow Government Guidelines on Covid restrictions and social distancing.

Your Captain Tom 100 challenge can be completed anytime and anywhere from Friday 30 April through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May 2021, which marks what would have been his 101st birthday.

Once you’ve decided what you’re doing, you can fundraise by asking friends, family, neighbours or work colleagues to sponsor you, or simply donate to Small Acts of Kindness.  Then share your 100 on social media, using #SmallKindActs100 and #CaptainTom100. We would love to see all the wonderful things you get up to - so please share your photos and videos!

Join us and take on your own 100 challenge.  Everyone is invited to join in the fun!

“Tomorrow will be a good day” – Captain Sir Tom Moore

Here’s what some of our team will be doing:

Lynne, our CEO, will be making 100 calls to recipients of our Warm in Winter bags to wish them a good Bank Holiday weekend.

Cassie, our Social Media Manager, will be baking 100 cupcakes.

"We are so grateful for the incredible support we have received since my father started his record breaking fundraising walk. We know he would love the idea of inviting everyone to get involved and share their Captain Tom 100 so that together we can ensure 'Tomorrow will be a good day''."

Hannah Ingram-Moore / Captain Tom's Daughter
