We are so incredibly proud to have been announced as a winner of one of the Hertfordshire High Sheriff’s Awards, at the first ever virtual event held on 11th March 2021. With over 3,500 registered charities in Hertfordshire, we were honoured to be shortlisted in the group category alongside Drum, Electric Umbrella, Hospice of St Francis, Playskill and Sunnyside Rural Trust. The High Sheriff, Henry Holland-Hibbert, revealed that all six charities were deserved winners of one of his group awards.

The High Sheriff highlighted that we’d had an exceptional year, supporting the community during the Covid-19 pandemic and adapting to the resulting limitations. Our practical gifts and information reduced the impact of feeling lonely. He also praised our wonderful team of volunteers, who helped us to provide over 3,000 activity and gift bags, and 7,000 Warm in Winter gift bags, for older people across Hertfordshire.

The awards ceremony was ‘attended’ by over 300 hundred people, and we were delighted to be able to share our achievement.
